In a recent Socialbakers study of 1.3 million posts made by over 30,000 Facebook business pages, it was determined that photos make up 75% of all brand Facebook posts. Statista broke down the individual post types:
Francisco Rosales of SocialMouths reacted to this discovery by citing Adobe‘s Social Intelligence Report, which found that while photos dipped 0.6% in engagement from Q1 in 2013 to 2014, videos grew by 25%. This has been the latest in a series of instances pointing to video as the next frontier of Facebook engagement.
Most strikingly, video plays have shot up 785% from January 2013 to January 2014! SocialMouths’ takeaway, and our conclusion, is that shareable, likeable video content holds tons of potential for engagement for Facebook businesses.
This is especially true on Fridays. On the last day of the work week, brand posts get the highest number of post impressions at 15.7% and engagement rates at 3.3%. Brand videos are played most often on Fridays, too, at 24.7%.
With numbers like those, Facebook pages can’t afford to lose out on the opportunity. Here are some video ideas for businesses selling on Facebook:
- Tours of your brick-and-mortar storefront, warehouse, or office space
- Interviews with business partners, employees, or happy customers
- Runway examples of models wearing your products head-to-toe
